Biography:
After gaining two prizes at Paris Conservatoires, Cyrille decided to expand his studies with Steven Mead at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, UK. With a postgraduate diploma in his pocket, he chose to stay in England to start a freelance career. However, for euphonium players opportunities to play with orchestras are rare so Cyrille has therefore adopted a diverse approach to his music making. Before his move from France, he explored jazz with Denis Badault, Marc Steckar and François Thuillier, as well as being involved with French pop band, Alaf Lamout?.
Cyrille is now enjoying a successful freelance career in the North West of England. He is currently Principal Euphonium with the renowned Yorkshire Imperial Brass Band, but also has a keen interest in performing with smaller ensembles which include The Little Tuba Band, a tuba-euphonium duo, as well as leading the jazz ensemble, Big Brass. He has recently been appointed to represent the Sterling euphonium brand and will soon be giving rectials across the country to promote the instrument.
On top of a busy performance schedule, Cyrille is enthusiastic about music education, giving private tuition in euphonium and travelling to schools around the area to take part in music workshops. Click here to find out more about Cyrille as a euphonium teacher.

Ensembles:
Big Brass - A Tuba-Euphonium Jazz Nonet
This is a new jazz ensemble based in Manchester. This band is composed of a tenor horn, two euphoniums, three tubas, piano and drums and is the only one of its kind in Manchester and probably in the country.
Its sound is very unusual. The combination of the mellow colour of the euphonium and the warm low tone of the tuba create a very mesmerizing ambience.
We believe this formation will bring something new and appealing to the ears of many and will introduce a new view on these instruments which are often only associated with use in brass bands.
